General business 1) Report on Clean up Australia Day was tabled and accepted (Available for reading on web site). Huge effort by all that participated with terrific results. 2) Membership for Neerim District Development Assoc. is due. Passed for payment (Eugene and Mary). 3) Discussion on soliciting corporations to take on membership. Suggested minimum of $100.00 (Mary and Trevor) 4) Discussion on the meeting fees set by the hall committee. A letter is to be sent back to hall committee requesting a reduced rate for the friends group. 5) Discussion on the heritage aspects of "Crossover Bridge" and the Rokeby "pump station". Over the past year we have had numerous approaches from people, local and from outside our area, expressing their concern in regards to the state of disrepair that the bridge is falling into and asking if we could do something towards getting it restored to its former glory. It was proposed that we take on the project of restoring the bridge and upgrading the old railway line to create a passive use track from Rokeby through to Crossover. (Eugene and jan) motion was passed unanimously. Proposal papers are now posted on the web site. WE WILL NEED EVERYONES SUPPORT TO ACHIEVE THE RESULT THAT WE ALL DESIRE. 6) Web site is now up and running. We are loading things on as they become available, eventually this will be our conduit for all members and others to peruse and find information. The site will be linked to various sites e.g. parks, dse, baw baw shire, shire development committee, this will mean that anyone can go onto any site and find out accurate, up to date, information.
