NOTES:  MEETING 13th December 2007

1)      GREEN CORP: All is progressing nicely, with the application for the training package being passed by D.E.W.R in Canberra. Recruitment of participants will start and a team leader appointed in anticipation of a middle/late February start. All the volunteer project people have everything organised for when they are needed.

2)      VISION AUSTRALIA: Both Mary and David attended the studios of vision Australia and recorded a session for broadcast. The focus of the interview was on the origins of the group and on going projects. We may undertake more sessions as part of community awareness.

3)      MOTORBIKE UNLOADING AREAS: Paul reported that “Limberlost” is nearing completion and that it is expected that “La Trobe River road” will be underway before March 2008. There was discussion on appropriate signage being necessary for all users to understand what is happening.

4)      CENTRAL HIGHLANDS TRAIL-BIKE INITIATIVE: There is a funding grant available to the group to undertake rehabilitation works on areas affected by trail-bike abuse and now closed off. To access this grant we must put in formal request to the “Initiative Committee”. Before we apply, it was decided that further discussions were necessary to ascertain the most appropriate places.

5)      CROSSOVER HISTORIC BRIDGE: The shire has effectually taken charge of this project, we will still have a strong input, but as the owners of the bridge, the shire, has to sign off on all applications, reports, and funding applications.  The “bridge” committee is meeting regularly and expect to have all the reports and paperwork ready for funding applications by middle 2008.

6)      PARKS VICTORIA: Craig confirmed that members are not insured under “Parks” policy unless we are working on parks property or a sanctioned event. Mary is to work with Craig to ascertain our insurance and tax status through the “Friends Association”. This is vital because of our expectations of receiving future funding for projects.

7)      ROKEBY/CROSSOVER TRACK: Craig has upgraded the track and installed gates (not locked) on either end of the track. In co-operation with the D.S.E., he will up-grade “Pilgrims Ck. Rd.” as a motorised use through track, he will also put in place bar and breach points to shut off illegal tracks through the forest area. This will give us both a “passive use” and “motorised use” track through the park. The group passed on a vote of thanks to Craig and Parks Vict. for their efforts up to date.

8)      CONSTITUTION: Mary reported that she has completed her investigations into a constitution for the group and recommended we adopt a standard form, this will give the group a “charity” status.

9)      NEERIM SHOW: To be held on January 27th 2008. Discussions on participation, costs, and magnitude of our involvement. Every-one in favour of putting on a more informative, low key display.

10)  CLEAN UP AUSTRALIA DAY: 2nd March 2008. Discussion revolved around the time necessary to organise this event and all the other projects we have going on at present. There was no resolution on this and will be discussed further at the next meeting.

11)  MEETING PLACE FOR 2008: After discussion it was passed that our meetings for 2008 will be held at the Rokeby Hall.
