GENERAL BUSINESS:
1) PHOTOS: Bernard has entered a number of extra pictures on the web page, these are highlighting the Neerim show and more of the bridge that we have received. If anyone can source more photos please contact Bernard to arrange for them to go onto the site.

2) BRIDGE UPDATES: David M. met with Ann Napier on the 2nd of July to discuss the groups proposal. Ann is the local "Heritage Victoria" representative and is very keen to see the project go forward. She will be approaching the heritage vic. people on our behalf to try and fast track the necessary permits and paperwork. We have been advised that the "Green Corp" provider has assigned a new person (Ann Holland) to oversee our project. An appointment has been made to meet with Ann on 23rd July to familiarise her with our proposal and also show her the extra tasks required throughout the shire. Anyone wishing to come along on the tour is more than welcome and can do so by contacting David D. No news as yet on the success of our Parks Vict. grant application.

3) COMMUNITY GRANTS: An application has been lodged with the shire to obtain a grant to assist with the costs of researching and implementing the "Bridge Project"

4) ROKEBY PUMP STATION: We have received a request from Heritage Victoria to look into how we can assist in saving the Pump Site from total demolition. In brief, Gippsland Water have applied to Baw Baw Shire for a permit to demolish the building, loch and all infra structure that marks the site, Heritage Vict. of course wants to save the site as a significant part of our local history. David D. will look into the full story on groups behalf. UP-DATE: Discussions have been held with Ann Napier and two local councillors to determine the situation, as a result a "site inspection" has been arranged for Saturday 21st of July at 10.00 A.M. meeting at the Rokeby Hal and walking to the site for an assessment of what is needed to solve the problem (approx time 1 ½ hours). The more imput we can have on the day, the better understanding we have to make a decision on our involvement. ( A vote will be taken at our next meeting). Every-one welcome to come along.

5) HISTORY PRESENTATION: Our guest Keith Cooke gave the gathering an enthralling insight into the history of our community and in particular the railways that past through the area. Keith is a third generation resident of the area and has an extensive knowledge of the history and places of interest e.g. mines, cemeteries, logging mills, the original township, railways, roads and other infra-structure of the past. A resolution was passed that we engage Keith for a field trip to visit a lot of the sites mentioned. This will happen later in the year, and I urge every-one to come on this social trip and enjoy a day travelling down memory lane.

6) MEMBERSHIPS: A reminder that memberships are now due.

7) ANNUAL MEETING: Our next meeting will be our annual meeting. Those on the e-mail list would of received a letter regarding this. The meeting will be a dinner (finger food) night. Annual meeting followed by general meeting.
