RCFG takes on TAFE Chainsaw Course

On the 20th June, a couple of members from the Rokeby Crossover Friends Group participated in a TAFE Gipplsand Chainsaw course.

The course aims to provide participants with fundamental knowledge around using chainsaws along with the skills required to operate a chainsaw in a safe manner.

Some of the topics covered:

  • Work site preparation

  • OHS and hazard risk identification

  • How to prepare for trimming and cutting fallen trees

  • How to operate a chainsaw

  • Basic Chainsaw/ equipement maintenance.

Everyone who attended found the course incredibly useful and insightful. All were awarded a certificate of participation.

This will enable our members to continue keeping the trails clear for all to enjoy!
